Enjoying the beauty that a piece of fine woodworking brings out is an experience of many. This complex multi cutter molding plane must have shared much of that responsibility in years long ago. You can envision the feel of the threaded wooden adjusting screws with two styles of wooden nuts to adjust the main fence. The main fence is in itself an elaborate molding for a show of the ability of the plane to enhance a craftsman's pride in his creations in fine woods. The bronze cutter boxes are precision inlaid into the plane body. The thumbscrews are bronze as well. This is a piece of art made to make fine art in hardwoods for the elite of days gone by

A close look shows the geared aligning teeth in the side of this curved shaping plane. It was made by Stanley Rule and Level No.113 dated June 1779. This Adjustable Plane is a precision crafted tool of long ago. I have used this tool and feel it is in working order if one wished to benefit from its service. It adjusts anywhere in-between the extremes shown in the two photos. This piece displays showing good contrast and mechanical fascination with its beauty

The Cantelo Adjustable Draw Knife handles have 4 locking positions each. The knife is razor sharp and I have found it will hold that edge quite well in use. If the buyer wishes we will ship this as a show piece less sharp to your specification. The handles feel and appear to be cherry wood. The piece is a prize display item
